"Theatre Without Words" builds bridges between the hearing and the deaf without any need for words. Through it, deaf children learn to cope with life situations they will encounter day in and day out in the hearing world. By bringing feelings and dreams to life through the children's diligence, abilities and possibilities, the theatre places their uniqueness alongside the uniqueness of others, and they can often say more with their bodies than hearing people can with words. It holds enormous potential as a method of non-formal education, giving the actors the opportunity to practise teamwork both in rehearsals and in performances. It is a pro-inclusive activity whose outcome is that deaf children grow into responsible and fearless people, provided they believe in themselves.
